Is the DSG in the VW Touran reliable?

The wet-clutch DSG of the 2.0 TDI is considered robust if its oil was changed on schedule. The seven-speed dry-clutch unit can judder when pulling away and has had mechatronic faults, so test it cold and in slow traffic.

Which DSG does a VW Touran have?

As a rule, the 2.0 TDI uses a wet-clutch DSG with oil changes in its service plan. The smaller TSI engines and the 1.6 TDI use the dry seven-speed unit.

Is an automatic VW Touran good for towing?

The 2.0 TDI with DSG suits towing a caravan best, with a higher towing capacity than the small petrols. The permitted trailer load is in the Fahrzeugausweis.
