Question 1

How big is the boot of a VW Golf Variant?

Accepted Answer

Over 600 litres with the rear seats up, on both the Golf 7 and the Golf 8 Variant, far more than the hatchback. With the seats folded it takes well over 1,600 litres.

Question 2

Is there a four-wheel-drive VW Golf Variant?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with 4Motion, including the raised Alltrack and the Golf R Variant. Among the new Golf Variant's versions, 4Motion comes with the 2.0 TSI of 204 hp.

Question 3

Which engine suits a used Golf Variant for long trips?

Accepted Answer

The 2.0 TDI, which copes well with a loaded estate and long motorway runs. For mostly short trips a 1.5 TSI is the simpler choice, as a diesel's particulate filter needs longer drives to clean itself.

Question 4

Which versions does the new VW Golf Variant come in?

Accepted Answer

The new Golf Variant has the 1.5 eTSI mild hybrid with 116 or 150 hp, the 2.0 TDI with 150 hp and the 2.0 TSI with 204 hp and 4Motion, all with DSG. Trims run from Trend and Life to Style and R-Line.
