Question 1

Is a used Toyota Corolla hybrid a good buy?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it is one of the most dependable used cars: the hybrid system has no clutch or conventional gearbox and is especially economical in town. Look for a service history at a Toyota garage and a hybrid health check of the battery.

Question 2

Should I choose the Toyota Corolla 1.8 or 2.0 hybrid?

Accepted Answer

The 1.8 suits town and commuting and uses the least fuel. The 2.0 is clearly quicker and calmer on motorways and mountain passes, and costs more to buy.

Question 3

Is the Toyota Corolla Touring Sports worth it over the hatchback?

Accepted Answer

For families, usually yes: the estate has a longer wheelbase, so more rear legroom, and a much larger boot. The hatchback is shorter and easier to park in town.

Question 4

Which versions does the new Toyota Corolla come in?

Accepted Answer

The new Corolla comes as a hatchback and a Touring Sports estate, each with a 1.8 hybrid of 140 hp or a 2.0 hybrid of 177 hp, always automatic, in trims such as Trend, Premium and GR Sport, at list price beside the used cars.
