Question 1

Is SsangYong still sold and serviced in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

Yes, under a new name: the brand became KGM, for KG Mobility, in 2023 after its takeover by KG Group. KGM dealers service SsangYong-badged cars and supply their parts.

Question 2

Which SsangYong models have real four-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

The Rexton and the Musso pick-up use a separate chassis and, on most versions, selectable four-wheel drive with low range, which suits towing and rough tracks. The Tivoli and Korando were also offered with four-wheel drive, but many are front-wheel drive.

Question 3

What should I check on a used SsangYong Rexton or Musso?

Accepted Answer

These are often bought for towing and work, so look at the tow bar, the underside and the transfer case for signs of hard use. On diesels, make sure the particulate filter is still in place, as a car without it fails the MFK.

Question 4

Which new SsangYong models are sold in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

The Tivoli, Korando, Torres and Actyon with the 163 hp 1.5 T-GDi petrol, the Torres and Actyon also as 204 hp hybrids, and the Torres EVX electric with an 80.6 kWh battery. The Rexton keeps the 202 hp 2.2 diesel with an eight-speed automatic, four-wheel drive and five or seven seats.
