Question 1

Which DSG does an automatic Skoda Karoq have?

Accepted Answer

The smaller engines use a seven-speed dry-clutch DSG, the 2.0 TDI and 2.0 TSI a wet-clutch DSG built for more torque. The wet one's oil must be changed at the intervals in the service book.

Question 2

Is the Skoda Karoq DSG reliable?

Accepted Answer

Generally yes, when serviced on time. On a test drive, creep, reverse and pull away from cold: judder or a delay before the car moves points to worn clutches or a faulty mechatronic unit.

Question 3

Is the Skoda Karoq 2.0 TDI DSG good for towing?

Accepted Answer

It is the usual choice for a caravan or trailer: the diesel's torque suits the wet-clutch DSG, and most come with 4x4. The permitted trailer weight differs by version and is entered in the Fahrzeugausweis.
