Question 1

Should I choose a Skoda Fabia 1.0 MPI or 1.0 TSI?

Accepted Answer

The MPI has no turbo and is simpler, but with 60 to 80 PS it feels slow on motorways and mountain passes. The 1.0 TSI, with 95 PS or more, pulls far better and still uses little fuel.

Question 2

Is the 1.0 TSI in the Skoda Fabia reliable?

Accepted Answer

The three-cylinder 1.0 TSI is generally regarded as robust when its oil is changed on time. It runs a timing belt, so check in the service book when the belt is next due.

Question 3

What was the petrol Skoda Fabia RS?

Accepted Answer

The second-generation RS, from 2010 to 2014, had a 1.4 TSI with both a supercharger and a turbocharger, 180 PS and DSG only. The first-generation RS was a diesel, and no RS followed after 2014.

Question 4

Which petrol engines does the new Skoda Fabia have?

Accepted Answer

The 1.0 TSI with 95 PS and a manual gearbox or 116 PS with DSG, and the 1.5 TSI with 150 PS or 177 PS in the Fabia 130, both with DSG. Trims are Selection, Monte Carlo and 130.
