Question 1

What should I check on a used Peugeot with the 1.2 PureTech?

Accepted Answer

Whether the timing belt, which runs in oil, has been changed on schedule with the specified oil. A worn belt sheds debris that can starve the engine of oil, so ask for the invoices.

Question 2

What is the most common fault on a Peugeot BlueHDi diesel?

Accepted Answer

Faults in the AdBlue system, often the tank's pump or heater, which trigger a warning and a countdown to a no-start. Ask whether it has been repaired and with which parts.

Question 3

Does Peugeot make four-wheel-drive cars?

Accepted Answer

Few: the 3008 Hybrid4 and 508 Hybrid4 plug-ins and the dual-motor E-3008 and E-5008 have it. Many 2008, 3008 and 5008 instead have Grip Control, a traction system for the front wheels that helps on snow with suitable tyres.

Question 4

Which models are on Peugeot's new-car list in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

The 208, 2008, 308 and 308 SW, 408, 3008, 5008, Rifter and Traveller, all with an automatic. Petrol versions are 48-volt hybrids, beside plug-ins, BlueHDi diesels and electric versions, at list price beside the used cars.
