Question 1

What should I check on a used Opel Grandland X Hybrid?

Accepted Answer

The battery's state of health and whether the car was charged regularly, as a plug-in run on petrol alone uses a lot of fuel. Ask for the charging cable and the service history at an Opel garage.

Question 2

Does the Opel Grandland X Hybrid4 have four-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

Yes, an electric motor drives the rear axle, which helps on snowy Swiss roads. The plain Grandland X Hybrid drives the front wheels only.

Question 3

Do hybrids pay less car tax in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the canton. Fribourg takes 15% off for a hybrid, Nidwalden charges a hybrid half, and Ticino applies a lower power factor to a petrol hybrid than to a petrol car.

Question 4

Which plug-in versions do the new Opel Astra and Grandland come in?

Accepted Answer

The new Astra plug-in has 195 hp, as hatchback or Sports Tourer, in Edition, GS and Ultimate trims. The Grandland plug-in has a 1.6 turbo and 225 hp, in Edition and GS, and both are automatic.
