Question 1

Which petrol engine is best in a used Opel Corsa?

Accepted Answer

In the Corsa E, the 1.0 Turbo three-cylinder has more pull than the 1.2 and 1.4 without a turbo and uses less fuel. In the Corsa F, the 100 PS 1.2 Turbo is the usual choice over the 75 PS version without one.

Question 2

What should I check on an Opel Corsa F 1.2 Turbo petrol?

Accepted Answer

Its timing belt runs in oil and can wear early, in bad cases clogging the oil pump strainer. Ask whether the belt was checked or changed at the interval Opel now prescribes, and how much oil the engine uses.

Question 3

Is the Opel Corsa OPC a good used buy?

Accepted Answer

The Corsa D and E OPC use a 1.6 Turbo of roughly 190 to 210 PS with a six-speed manual. Look for an unmodified car serviced by the book, and expect firm suspension on Swiss roads.

Question 4

Which new petrol Opel Corsa can I buy in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

The 1.2 Turbo with 100 PS and a manual gearbox, or the Hybrid 48V, which pairs the 1.2 Turbo with a small electric motor and an automatic, at 110 or 145 PS. Both come in Edition and GS trims.
