Question 1

Which models does Volvo sell new in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

The electric EX30, EX40, EC40, EX60 and EX90 SUVs and the ES90 saloon, plus the XC40, XC60 and XC90 SUVs and the V60 estate with petrol mild-hybrid or plug-in hybrid power. Volvo no longer sells diesel cars.

Question 2

What do the B, T and P badges on a new Volvo mean?

Accepted Answer

B marks a petrol mild hybrid, such as the B4 or B5, and T6 or T8 a plug-in hybrid with all-wheel drive. On the electric models P5 to P12 mark the power level, and AWD or Twin Motor means two motors.

Question 3

What do Core, Plus and Ultra mean on a new Volvo?

Accepted Answer

They are the equipment levels: Essential is the entry point on some models, Core the base, Plus adds equipment and Ultra is the most complete. Black Edition is a dark-styled version, and each version shows its exact equipment.

Question 4

Does a new electric Volvo pay car tax in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

That depends on your canton: Zürich, Solothurn and Glarus exempt electric cars, Vaud exempts a new one for 24 months, and others tax them with a rebate or in full. The automobile tax is already in the list price.
