Question 1

Which engines does the new Volvo XC40 have?

Accepted Answer

Two mild-hybrid petrol engines: the B3 with 163 hp and the B4 with 197 hp, both with an automatic gearbox. The electric version is now sold separately as the EX40.

Question 2

What separates the Volvo XC40's trims?

Accepted Answer

Core is the base, Plus adds comfort and equipment, and Ultra is the top trim. The B3 comes in Core, Essential and Plus, the B4 in Core, Plus, Ultra and an Ultra Black Edition.

Question 3

Should I buy a new Volvo XC40 or a used one?

Accepted Answer

A new XC40 brings the full factory warranty and the trim you choose. A used one costs less, as most depreciation comes in the first years, and also offers diesel and plug-in versions no longer sold new.

Question 4

What tax does a new Volvo XC40 pay in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

The automobile tax is already in the list price, and the annual car tax then depends on your canton. Several cantons give rebates in the first years to cars in the best energy labels.
