Question 1

Does the Subaru e-BOXER need charging?

Accepted Answer

No, the e-BOXER is a mild hybrid: its small battery charges itself when braking and from the engine. The electric motor mainly helps when pulling away and at low speed, so the car is refuelled like any petrol car.

Question 2

What is the difference between the new Subaru Crosstrek and Impreza?

Accepted Answer

They share the 136 hp 2.0 e-BOXER, the Lineartronic gearbox and all-wheel drive. The Crosstrek is the raised SUV with more ground clearance, the Impreza the lower hatchback.

Question 3

Which trims does the new Subaru Forester come in?

Accepted Answer

In Switzerland the Forester comes as Advantage, Sport, Luxury and Swiss Plus, all with the same 136 hp e-BOXER, Lineartronic and all-wheel drive. The trims step up in equipment, and each version's list shows what it adds.

Question 4

How much car tax does a new petrol Subaru pay in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the holder's canton, as each calculates it differently. Zürich adds an amount on engine size to one on total weight, and Bern taxes total weight alone, so a heavier all-wheel-drive Subaru pays a little more there.
