Question 1

Which new Subaru models have all-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

Every petrol Subaru, the Impreza, Crosstrek, Forester and Outback, has permanent symmetrical all-wheel drive, and so do the electric Solterra and E-Outback with a motor on each axle. The Uncharted is offered with two-wheel drive or as a 343 hp 4x4.

Question 2

What is the e-BOXER in the new Subaru Forester?

Accepted Answer

It is a 2.0-litre flat-four petrol engine with 136 hp, helped by a small electric motor built into the Lineartronic gearbox. It assists when pulling away and at low speed and never needs charging.

Question 3

What is the difference between the Subaru Solterra, E-Outback and Uncharted?

Accepted Answer

The Solterra is an electric SUV with a 73.1 kWh battery and 343 hp, the E-Outback a larger one with 74.7 kWh and 380 hp, both with all-wheel drive. The Uncharted is the compact one, with 57.7 or 77 kWh and 168 to 343 hp.

Question 4

Do new electric Subarus pay car tax in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the holder's canton. Zürich, Solothurn and Glarus exempt electric cars, Vaud exempts new ones for 24 months, and other cantons give rebates or tax them in full.

Question 5

Should I buy a new or a used Subaru in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

A new Subaru brings the factory warranty and the current e-BOXER or electric drivetrains. A used one costs less and widens the choice to models no longer on sale, such as the XV or the Levorg.
