Question 1

Which engines does the new Skoda Fabia have?

Accepted Answer

Only petrol engines: the three-cylinder 1.0 TSI with 95 PS and a manual gearbox or 116 PS with DSG, and the four-cylinder 1.5 TSI with 150 PS or, in the Fabia 130, 177 PS, both with DSG.

Question 2

What do the Skoda Fabia Selection, Monte Carlo and 130 trims add?

Accepted Answer

Selection is the well-equipped core trim. Monte Carlo adds a sportier look with black details and sports seats, and the Fabia 130 is the sportiest, with the 177 PS engine.

Question 3

Is the new Skoda Fabia available as an estate or with 4x4?

Accepted Answer

No, the fourth-generation Fabia is a five-door hatchback with front-wheel drive only. The Combi estate ended with the third generation, so a Fabia Combi is always a used car.

Question 4

How much car tax does a new Skoda Fabia pay in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the canton. Cantons that tax displacement, such as Solothurn or Valais, charge the 1.0 TSI less than the 1.5 TSI, while Vaud and Lucerne tax weight and power.

Question 5

Is a new or a used Skoda Fabia better value in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

A new Fabia brings the full factory warranty and the trim you choose, but loses most value in its first years. A young used fourth-generation Fabia costs less with the same technology.
