Question 1

Which new Renault models still come with a petrol engine?

Accepted Answer

The Clio with the TCe 115, the Captur and Symbioz with a 140 hp mild hybrid, and the Grand Kangoo with the TCe 130. Every other model is a full hybrid, electric or, on the Trafic, diesel.

Question 2

Can I get a new petrol Renault with a manual gearbox?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Clio TCe 115 and the Grand Kangoo TCe 130 come with a manual or the EDC dual-clutch automatic. The Captur and Symbioz mild hybrids are EDC only.

Question 3

Is a Renault mild hybrid the same as an E-Tech full hybrid?

Accepted Answer

No: the mild hybrid's small electric motor assists the petrol engine but cannot drive the car on its own. The E-Tech full hybrid covers short stretches on electricity and has its own multi-mode gearbox.

Question 4

How is a new petrol Renault taxed in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

Each canton sets the annual tax, on displacement, weight, power or CO₂. In cantons that reward energy label A or B, such as Zürich or Bern, an efficient version pays less in its first years.
