Question 1

Which versions of the new Renault Clio are sold in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

Two powertrains: the TCe 115 petrol, with a manual gearbox or the EDC dual-clutch automatic, and the Full Hybrid E-Tech 160, which is always automatic. Trims run from Evolution through Techno to Esprit Alpine.

Question 2

Should I choose the Renault Clio TCe 115 or the E-Tech hybrid?

Accepted Answer

The E-Tech 160 is the more powerful of the two and can run on electricity alone in town, without ever needing a plug. The TCe 115 is the simpler car and the only one offered with a manual gearbox.

Question 3

What do the Clio's Evolution, Techno and Esprit Alpine trims add?

Accepted Answer

Evolution is the entry trim, Techno adds comfort and connectivity, and Esprit Alpine is the sportiest-looking top trim. Each version shows its exact equipment beside its list price.

Question 4

Does a hybrid Renault Clio pay less car tax in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

In some cantons: Fribourg takes 15% off for a hybrid, Nidwalden halves its tax and Ticino weighs a petrol hybrid's power at a lower rate. Elsewhere it is taxed like a petrol car, and the federal automobile tax is already in the list price.

Question 5

Is it better to buy a new or a used Renault Clio?

Accepted Answer

A new Clio brings the full factory warranty and the latest generation, but loses most value in its first years. A young used one costs less and may keep part of its warranty.
