Question 1

Is the new Porsche Macan still available with a petrol engine?

Accepted Answer

No, the current Macan is electric only. The first-generation Macan, with petrol four-cylinder and V6 engines and a PDK gearbox, is found as a used car.

Question 2

What range does the electric Porsche Macan have?

Accepted Answer

Up to about 640 km on the WLTP cycle for the rear-wheel-drive Macan, and roughly 580 to 610 km for the all-wheel-drive versions. Every version has the same 100 kWh battery.

Question 3

What do the Porsche Macan 4S, GTS and Turbo add?

Accepted Answer

Mainly power: 516 hp in the 4S, 571 hp in the GTS and 639 hp in the Turbo, against 360 hp in the Macan and 408 hp in the Macan 4. All three have all-wheel drive.

Question 4

Does an electric Porsche Macan pay cantonal car tax?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the canton. Zürich, Solothurn and Glarus exempt electric cars, Bern charges half the rate, and Schwyz and St. Gallen tax them like any other car.

Question 5

Should I buy a new or a used Porsche Macan?

Accepted Answer

A new Macan is electric, with the factory warranty and the specification you order. Most used Macans are first-generation petrol cars, a quite different car with a PDK gearbox and a lower price after their early depreciation.
