Question 1

Which versions of the new Porsche 911 are there?

Accepted Answer

The Carrera and Carrera T with 394 PS, the Carrera S and 4S with 480 PS, the GTS and Carrera 4 GTS with 541 PS, the GT3 with 510 PS and the Turbo S with 711 PS. The Targa comes as 4S and 4 GTS, with all-wheel drive.

Question 2

Is the new Porsche 911 available with a manual gearbox?

Accepted Answer

Yes: the Carrera T coupé and Cabriolet, the GT3 with Touring package and the GT3 S/C have a manual. Every other version uses the eight-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox.

Question 3

Should I buy a new or a used Porsche 911 in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

A new 911 brings the factory warranty and the options you choose, and the 4% automobile tax is already in its Swiss price. A young used one costs less and may keep part of its warranty, though a dealer still charges 8.1% VAT on the whole price.

Question 4

How much car tax does a new Porsche 911 pay in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

It depends on your canton: some tax engine size, others weight, power or CO₂. In a canton that taxes power, such as Lucerne or St. Gallen, a 711 PS Turbo S pays far more than a 394 PS Carrera.
