Question 1

Which engines does the new Mercedes GLC have in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

Petrol GLC 200 and GLC 300 with 204 or 258 hp, diesel GLC 220 d, 300 d and 450 d with 197 to 367 hp, and the plug-in hybrids 300 e, 400 e and diesel 300 de. The AMG GLC 53 has 449 hp, and every version is automatic.

Question 2

How far does the electric Mercedes GLC go on a charge?

Accepted Answer

The electric GLC with EQ Technology has an 85 or 94 kWh battery and 354 to 489 hp, and the GLC 400 4MATIC is rated for well over 600 km on the WLTP cycle. It is built on its own electric platform, not on the combustion GLC.

Question 3

Is the new Mercedes GLC plug-in hybrid worth it?

Accepted Answer

For drivers who can charge at home or at work, often yes: the GLC 300 e, 400 e and 300 de carry a 25 kWh battery, good for over 100 km on electricity on the WLTP cycle. On long trips the engine takes over, petrol or, in the 300 de, diesel.

Question 4

Does a new Mercedes GLC pay car tax in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

Yes, every year to your canton, which taxes weight, power, displacement or CO₂ depending on where you live. Zürich and Solothurn exempt an electric GLC, and the 4% automobile tax is already in the list price.
