Which new Land Rover models come as a diesel?

All seven: the Defender, Discovery, Discovery Sport, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Velar and Evoque. The Discovery is sold only as a diesel.

Does a diesel Land Rover pay more car tax in Switzerland?

It depends on the canton, which may tax displacement, weight, power or CO₂. Ticino, for example, applies a slightly higher power factor to a diesel than to a petrol car.

Should I buy a new diesel Land Rover or a used one?

A new one carries the full factory warranty, valuable on a large diesel with AdBlue and a particulate filter. A used one costs less, but ask whether it mostly did short trips, which keep the filter from regenerating.
