Question 1

Which models does Land Rover sell new in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

The Defender, the Discovery and Discovery Sport, and four Range Rovers: the Range Rover itself, the Range Rover Sport, the Velar and the Evoque. Each appears with all its engines and trims.

Question 2

Is there an electric Land Rover?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport are sold as electric cars beside their combustion and plug-in hybrid versions. Whether they pay car tax depends on the canton: Zürich, Solothurn and Glarus exempt electric cars.

Question 3

Does a new Land Rover come with a manual gearbox?

Accepted Answer

No, every new Land Rover sold in Switzerland is an automatic. Diesel, petrol and plug-in hybrid versions all shift on their own, and the electric Range Rovers need no gear changes at all.

Question 4

Should I buy a new or a used Land Rover?

Accepted Answer

A new one brings the full factory warranty and the trim and options you choose, which counts on cars with air suspension and complex electronics. A used one has already lost a large share of its value in its first years.
