Which engines does the new Kia Sportage have?

Accepted Answer

All use the 1.6 T-GDi turbo petrol: with 150 hp and a manual or seven-speed dual-clutch, with 180 hp, 4x4 and the dual-clutch, as the 239 hp HEV hybrid or as the 288 hp PHEV plug-in, both hybrids with a six-speed automatic.

Question 2

How far does the new Kia Sportage plug-in hybrid go on electricity?

Accepted Answer

Its 14 kWh battery gives up to 65 km with front-wheel drive and 62 km with 4x4, by the manufacturer's figures. That covers many daily commutes when charged at home or at work.

Question 3

Which trims does the new Kia Sportage come in?

Accepted Answer

Besides the base version there are the Power Edition, Style, the sportier-looking GT-Line and, on the 4x4 hybrid, the Black Edition. Each version shows its exact equipment.

Question 4

Should I buy a new Kia Sportage or a used one?

Accepted Answer

A new Sportage carries Kia's full seven-year factory warranty and today's hybrid engines. A young used one of the same generation costs less and keeps the rest of that warranty.
