Question 1

Can you still buy a new Hyundai with a manual gearbox in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but only the i20 and Bayon 1.0 T-GDi in their lower trims. Every other new petrol Hyundai has a dual-clutch gearbox (DCT).

Question 2

Is the new Hyundai i30 available as an estate?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the i30 comes as a hatchback or a Wagon estate, both with the 1.6 T-GDi of 150 hp and a DCT gearbox, in Origo, Amplia, N Line and Vertex trims.

Question 3

Does the new petrol Hyundai Kona have all-wheel drive?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Kona 1.6 T-GDi with 180 hp is sold in Switzerland only with 4WD and a DCT. The Tucson uses the same engine with front-wheel drive; an all-wheel-drive Tucson is a hybrid or plug-in.

Question 4

Petrol or hybrid for a new Hyundai Tucson?

Accepted Answer

The 1.6 T-GDi petrol with 180 hp is the lighter, simpler choice for long motorway trips. The hybrid adds electric help and 239 hp, and in cantons such as Fribourg or Nidwalden a hybrid pays less car tax.
