Question 1

Which powertrains does the new Hyundai Tucson have?

Accepted Answer

The 1.6 T-GDi petrol with 180 hp and a dual-clutch gearbox, the full hybrid with 239 hp and the plug-in hybrid with 288 hp, both with a six-speed automatic. The petrol is front-wheel drive; the hybrids come with or without 4WD.

Question 2

How far does the new Tucson Plug-in go on electricity?

Accepted Answer

With a battery of about 14 kWh it is rated at 70 km WLTP with front-wheel drive and 64 km with 4WD. That covers most daily commutes, with the petrol engine for longer trips.

Question 3

Hybrid or plug-in: which new Tucson to choose?

Accepted Answer

The full hybrid charges itself and needs no plug; the plug-in suits drivers who can charge at home or at work. Without regular charging, a plug-in carries its battery for nothing.

Question 4

Which trims does the new Tucson come in?

Accepted Answer

Origo, Amplia, Vertex and N Line, plus an Origo Black Line with the 4WD hybrid. Each version lists its exact equipment.

Question 5

Should I buy a new Hyundai Tucson or a used one?

Accepted Answer

A new Tucson brings the latest update and the full factory warranty. A used fourth-generation Tucson has the same hybrid technology and costs less.
