Question 1

Is the Citroën Hybrid 145 a full hybrid?

Accepted Answer

No, it is a 48-volt mild hybrid: a 1.2 turbo petrol with an electric motor in its e-DCS6 dual-clutch gearbox, which can move the car briefly at low speed. It charges itself and is never plugged in.

Question 2

Can you still buy a new petrol Citroën with a manual gearbox?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the C3 and C3 Aircross Turbo 100 and the Berlingo Turbo 110 have a six-speed manual. Every Hybrid version is automatic, with the e-DCS6 dual-clutch.

Question 3

Which petrol engine does the new Citroën C5 Aircross have?

Accepted Answer

Only the Hybrid 145, the mild-hybrid 1.2 with the e-DCS6 dual-clutch. Beyond it, the C5 Aircross is sold as a 225 hp plug-in hybrid or as an electric car.

Question 4

Should I buy the new Citroën C3 as a petrol or as the electric ë-C3?

Accepted Answer

The petrol C3 suits long motorway journeys and needs no charger. The 113 hp ë-C3 costs little to run if you can charge at home, and in some cantons pays little or no car tax.
