How is car tax calculated for a Mercedes in Schwyz?

By a formula on power and total weight, 7.125 × kW^0.9 ÷ kg^0.05, with a minimum of CHF 160. Power drives the result, so a high-output AMG pays far more than a modest diesel.

Do electric Mercedes pay less tax in Schwyz?

No, Schwyz taxes electric cars by the same formula and gives no rebates for electric or efficient cars. A powerful EQE pays on its kilowatts like any other car.

When is the MFK due on a used Mercedes in Schwyz?

The first MFK, the periodic inspection, comes five years after first registration, the second three years later, then every two years. The road traffic office summons the holder, so check the date of the last test before you buy.
