Question 1

Which Mercedes E-Class generation is the better used buy?

Accepted Answer

The W213, built from 2016 to 2023, brought the 2.0-litre OM654 diesel and the 9G-Tronic across most versions. The W214, sold since 2023, is more digital inside, and most versions have mild-hybrid or plug-in help.

Question 2

What should I check on a used Mercedes S-Class?

Accepted Answer

The air suspension and the many electronic systems, which are costly to repair once out of warranty. A full service history with a Mercedes garage or specialist matters more here than on a C-Class.

Question 3

Is a Mercedes CLA or C-Class the better used saloon?

Accepted Answer

The petrol and diesel CLA is front-driven, sharing the A-Class's engines and dual-clutch gearbox. The C-Class is rear-driven with a torque-converter automatic and more rear space, and both are offered with 4MATIC.

Question 4

Which new Mercedes saloons are sold in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

The CLA, C-Class, E-Class and S-Class, the AMG GT four-door and the electric EQE and EQS, with petrol, diesel, hybrid or electric power depending on the model. All are automatic, at list price beside the used saloons.
