Question 1

What should I check on a used Mercedes EQ battery?

Accepted Answer

Ask a Mercedes workshop for a battery health report and check the remaining battery warranty, which runs eight years or 160,000 km on the EQ models. Compare the range shown at full charge with the car's official figure.

Question 2

Does an electric Mercedes pay car tax in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

That depends on the canton: Zürich, Solothurn and Glarus exempt electric cars, while St. Gallen and Schwyz tax them like any other. Many cantons give a rebate instead, often for the first few years.

Question 3

Which used electric Mercedes has the longest range?

Accepted Answer

The EQS saloon, with the largest battery and a very slippery body, goes furthest in the EQ family, followed by the EQE. The EQA and EQB carry smaller batteries and suit shorter daily trips.

Question 4

Which new electric Mercedes are sold in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

The new electric CLA, as a saloon and Shooting Brake, and the electric GLA, GLB, GLC and C-Class join the EQE, EQS and their SUVs, the G 580 with EQ Technology and the AMG GT 4-door coupé. The eVito and the new VLE cover vans, and all are at list price beside the used cars.
