Question 1

Which used Mercedes V-Class is the best buy?

Accepted Answer

One from the 2019 update onwards, with the 2.0-litre diesel and the 9G-Tronic gearbox, is the more modern choice. Earlier cars use the 2.1-litre diesel and the 7G-Tronic, and cost less.

Question 2

How many seats does a Mercedes V-Class have?

Accepted Answer

Usually six to eight, depending on whether the rear rows are single seats or benches. The rear seats slide on rails and can be taken out for bulky loads.

Question 3

Does a Mercedes V-Class pay more car tax in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the canton: those that tax total weight, such as Bern, Uri or Appenzell, charge a heavy V-Class more than a car. Cantons that tax engine size, such as Glarus or Solothurn, treat its four-cylinder diesel like a family car's.

Question 4

Which versions does the new Mercedes V-Class come in?

Accepted Answer

The new V-Class comes as the V 220 d, V 250 d and V 300 d diesels and the petrol V 300, compact, long and extra-long, some with 4MATIC, all automatic, at list price beside the used cars.
