Question 1

Is a petrol Mercedes GLC better than a diesel?

Accepted Answer

For short trips and town driving, often yes: the petrol GLC avoids the particle-filter regenerations a diesel needs and runs more quietly. Over long motorway distances or with a trailer, the diesel uses noticeably less fuel.

Question 2

What engine does the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 have?

Accepted Answer

In the first generation, a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, in the GLC 63 and the stronger GLC 63 S. The second generation's AMG GLC 63 S E Performance replaced it with a 2.0 four-cylinder plug-in hybrid of 680 hp.

Question 3

Does a petrol Mercedes GLC pay more car tax in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

It depends on your canton. Cantons that tax displacement favour the 2.0-litre four-cylinders over the AMG V6 and V8, while those taxing weight and power, such as Aargau and St. Gallen, charge powerful versions more.

Question 4

Which petrol engines does the new Mercedes GLC have?

Accepted Answer

The GLC 200 4MATIC with 204 hp and the GLC 300 4MATIC with 258 hp, both mild hybrids, and the AMG GLC 53 4MATIC+ with 449 hp. All are automatic and listed at their official price beside the used cars.
