Question 1

How far does a used Mercedes GLC plug-in hybrid go on electricity?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the generation: the first-generation 350 e manages only a short distance, the 2019 facelift's plug-ins somewhat more, and the second generation over 100 km on the WLTP cycle. Test the real range, as battery capacity declines with age.

Question 2

Does a Mercedes GLC plug-in hybrid pay less car tax in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

In some cantons, yes: Aargau counts a plug-in's weight and power slightly lower, Nidwalden halves the tax of a hybrid, and Obwalden does so for 24 months. Elsewhere it pays like any other car, so check your own canton.

Question 3

What is the Mercedes GLC 300 de?

Accepted Answer

A plug-in hybrid that pairs the 2.0 diesel with an electric motor, aimed at drivers who cover long distances once the battery is empty. It was offered in the facelifted first generation and in the second.

Question 4

Which hybrid versions does the new Mercedes GLC have?

Accepted Answer

Three plug-ins, each with a 25 kWh battery and 4MATIC: the GLC 300 e with 313 hp, the GLC 400 e with 381 hp and the diesel GLC 300 de with 333 hp. They are listed at their official price beside the used cars.
