Is the Mercedes GLA's dual-clutch gearbox reliable?

Generally yes, if its oil was changed as the service plan requires. On a test drive, watch for jerks or hesitation when pulling away and manoeuvring, especially with the gearbox cold.

Was the Mercedes GLA sold with a manual gearbox?

Yes, the first generation offered a six-speed manual on some front-wheel-drive versions. Manual GLAs are rare in Switzerland, where almost all were ordered as automatics.

Is the new Mercedes GLA an automatic?

Yes, every new GLA is electric with automatic drive: the GLA 200 with 224 hp, the GLA 250+ with 272 hp and the GLA 350 4MATIC with 354 hp, at list price beside the used cars.
