Question 1

What should I check on a used Land Rover?

Accepted Answer

The air suspension first, on models fitted with it: a corner that sags overnight or a compressor that runs constantly points to costly repairs. Electronics and infotainment are also worth testing function by function.

Question 2

Is the original Land Rover Defender still worth buying?

Accepted Answer

The original Defender, built until 2016, is a simple body-on-frame off-roader with a manual gearbox, and good ones are sought after. Rust on the chassis and bulkhead is the main thing to check.

Question 3

What is the difference between the Range Rover models?

Accepted Answer

The Range Rover is the flagship, the Range Rover Sport its shorter, sportier sibling, the Velar a lower mid-size SUV from 2017 and the Evoque the compact one. Each has its own generations, so the year tells you which one you are looking at.

Question 4

Which models and engines does a new Land Rover come with in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

The Defender, Discovery, Discovery Sport, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Velar and Evoque, as diesels, petrol cars and plug-in hybrids, all automatic, with the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport also electric. They sit at list price beside the used cars.
