Question 1

What is the difference between a Jeep 4xe and an e-Hybrid?

Accepted Answer

A 4xe is a plug-in hybrid with four-wheel drive, charged from a socket and able to cover short trips on electricity. An e-Hybrid is a mild hybrid that charges itself and cannot be plugged in.

Question 2

What should I check on a used Jeep 4xe plug-in hybrid?

Accepted Answer

How it was used: a plug-in rarely charged drives mostly on petrol. Check that the charging cable is there and that the battery still takes a full charge and gives a sensible electric range.

Question 3

Does a Jeep plug-in hybrid pay less car tax in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the canton. Cantons that tax CO₂ or the energy label tend to favour plug-ins, while those taxing weight count their heavy battery. The tax follows the holder's canton of residence.

Question 4

Is the Jeep Wrangler 4xe good off-road?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it keeps the Wrangler's solid axles and low-range transfer case, and the electric motor gives strong, smooth pull at crawling speed. It can also drive silently on electricity on forest tracks.
