Question 1

What is the difference between the Ford Kuga PHEV and the full hybrid?

Accepted Answer

The plug-in hybrid has a larger battery charged from the mains and covers everyday trips on electricity alone. The full hybrid charges its small battery while driving, suits drivers without a charging point and was also sold with AWD.

Question 2

What should I check on a used Ford Kuga plug-in hybrid?

Accepted Answer

That the battery recall work was done, since early cars from 2020 were recalled over a risk of the battery overheating. Also check the charging cable and ask how often the car was plugged in.

Question 3

Does a Ford Kuga hybrid pay less car tax in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

That depends on the canton, which taxes on engine size, weight, power or CO₂. Where CO₂ counts, the plug-in's low rated emissions can earn a reduction; where engine size counts, it pays like any 2.5-litre petrol.

Question 4

Which hybrid versions does the new Ford Kuga come in?

Accepted Answer

The new Kuga comes as a full hybrid with 180 hp and front-wheel drive or 183 hp with AWD, and as a plug-in hybrid with 243 hp and 68 km of electric range, all with a continuously variable gearbox, at list price beside the used cars.
