Question 1

Which battery does a used Fiat 500e have?

Accepted Answer

Either about 24 kWh, in the entry versions meant for town driving, or 42 kWh, which gives the longer range. The battery size usually appears in the version name, so check it before comparing two cars.

Question 2

Do electric Fiats pay car tax in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

That depends on the canton. Zürich, Solothurn and Glarus exempt electric cars, Bern charges half the rate, and Schwyz taxes them like any other car.

Question 3

Does an imported used Fiat 500e pay automobile tax?

Accepted Answer

Yes, since 1 January 2024 electric cars also pay the 4% automobile tax on import, plus 8.1% VAT. A 500e already on Swiss plates pays neither when it changes hands.

Question 4

Which new electric Fiats are sold in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

The 500e as a hatchback, 3+1 and Cabrio, the 600e, the Grande Panda and the Qubo L, all with a single-speed automatic. Each version sits at its list price beside the used cars.
