Question 1

Does the Fiat 500 TwinAir use a lot of fuel?

Accepted Answer

Often more than its official figure suggests, since the small turbo engine works hard when driven briskly. Driven gently it stays economical, and its eager character is what most owners buy it for.

Question 2

Is the Fiat 500 Hybrid a real hybrid?

Accepted Answer

No, it is a mild hybrid: a belt-driven starter-generator and a small battery assist the 1.0 three-cylinder and recover energy when braking. It cannot drive on electricity alone.

Question 3

Which petrol Fiat 500 is cheapest to tax in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

In cantons that tax engine size, such as Valais or Thurgau, the 0.9 TwinAir and the 1.0 Hybrid sit below the 1.2 and 1.4. Cantons that tax weight or power treat them almost alike, so check your own canton's basis.

Question 4

Which versions does the new Fiat 500 Hybrid come in?

Accepted Answer

The new 500 Hybrid has a 65 hp petrol mild hybrid with a manual gearbox, as a hatchback, 3+1 or Cabrio, in Pop, Torino, Dolcevita and La Prima trims. They sit at list price beside the used cars.
