Question 1

What is the difference between the Dacia Duster and the Bigster?

Accepted Answer

The Bigster is longer, about 4.57 m against the current Duster's 4.34 m, with more rear legroom and a bigger boot. Both share the same platform and the same hybrid and 4x4 powertrains.

Question 2

Which used Dacia Duster generation should I buy?

Accepted Answer

The second generation (2018–2023) brought a better cabin, more safety equipment and the 1.3 TCe petrol; the third, from 2024, a new platform and hybrids. The first (2010–2017) is the cheapest, but check it carefully for rust.

Question 3

Is a Dacia SUV with 4x4 worth it in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

In the mountain cantons, or for a steep, snowy driveway, yes: the Duster 4x4 combines ground clearance with low weight. In the lowlands a front-wheel-drive Duster on winter tyres is often enough, and it uses less fuel.

Question 4

What engines do the new Dacia Duster and Bigster have in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

Both come new as the Hybrid 155, a full hybrid with front-wheel drive, or as the Hybrid 150 4x4 with four-wheel drive, each with an automatic gearbox. The trims are Expression, Journey and Extreme.
