Which Citroën automatic gearbox is the most reliable?

The EAT6 and EAT8 torque-converter automatics, built by Aisin, are considered robust when their oil is changed. The older AL4 four-speed automatic has a weaker reputation.

What is the ETG gearbox on a used Citroën?

A robotised manual: a conventional gearbox with an automated single clutch, found on older C1, C3 and C4 Picasso versions. It shifts with a noticeable pause and is no match for a true automatic for comfort.

Which new Citroën cars are automatic?

All but the C3, C3 Aircross and Berlingo with the base turbo petrol. The Hybrid versions use the e-DCS6 dual-clutch, the C5 Aircross plug-in the ë-DCS7, the diesels the EAT8, and every electric version a single gear.
