Question 1

What is the difference between the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and Gran Tourer?

Accepted Answer

The Gran Tourer is longer, with a bigger boot and an optional third row for seven seats. It was built until 2022, while the five-seat Active Tourer continues in a second generation.

Question 2

Is a used BMW 225xe Active Tourer a good buy?

Accepted Answer

The first-generation 225xe pairs a petrol engine at the front with an electric motor at the rear, giving all-wheel drive. Its battery is small, so check that it still charges fully and gives a sensible electric range.

Question 3

Does the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer come with xDrive?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on several versions: in the first generation, for example, the 220d xDrive and the 225xe, and in the current one the 223i xDrive, the 223d xDrive and the 225e and 230e xDrive plug-ins.

Question 4

Which versions does the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer come in?

Accepted Answer

The new Active Tourer comes as the 218i, 220i and 223i petrol, the 218d and 223d xDrive diesels, and the 225e and 230e xDrive plug-in hybrids with a 14 kWh battery, all automatic, at list price.
