Question 1

How do I check the battery of a used Audi e-tron?

Accepted Answer

Ask an Audi garage for a battery report showing its state of health. Audi covers the high-voltage battery for eight years or 160,000 km, so a young e-tron often still has that warranty.

Question 2

Does an electric Audi pay car tax in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the holder's canton. Zürich, Solothurn and Glarus exempt electric cars, Bern and Lucerne give rebates, and cantons such as Schwyz tax them like any other car.

Question 3

Does an electric Audi bought abroad pay tax on import?

Accepted Answer

Yes, since 1 January 2024 electric cars also pay the 4% automobile tax on import, plus 8.1% import VAT. An e-tron already on Swiss plates pays neither when it changes hands.

Question 4

Which new electric Audis are sold in Switzerland?

Accepted Answer

The A2 e-tron with a 50 to 79 kWh battery, the Q4 e-tron with 77 kWh, the Q6 e-tron and A6 e-tron with up to 95 kWh, their S versions, and the e-tron GT with 97 kWh and up to 843 hp in the RS performance.
